Terms of Use

Last updated: July 17, 2026

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your use of the Handicap Tracker iPhone app (the "app") and the website at handicaptracker.app. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Who we are

Handicap Tracker is published by Corey Smith, an independent developer. You can reach us at support@handicaptracker.app.

2. Using the app

You may use the app for your personal, non-commercial use on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. You agree not to copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or misuse the app, and not to use it in any unlawful way.

3. Purchases and subscriptions

The base app is free and supported by ads. Optional Pro features are available as in-app purchases, either as an auto-renewing subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. All purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account.

4. Not an official handicap

Handicap Tracker calculates a handicap index using the World Handicap System calculation method for your personal reference. It is not an official Handicap Index and is not issued, endorsed, or recognized by the USGA, The R&A, or any golf association. For an official handicap, use an authorized handicapping body. Handicap Tracker is not affiliated with the USGA, The R&A, or the World Handicap System.

5. Your data

Your courses and rounds are stored on your device and, if enabled, in your own private iCloud. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups (for example, by keeping iCloud sync enabled). How data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of calculations, and uninterrupted availability. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the app. Total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or US$25 if you paid nothing.

8. Changes and termination

We may update the app, these Terms, or discontinue features at any time. Material changes to these Terms will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date; continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. We may suspend access for misuse of the app.

9. Apple

These Terms are between you and the developer, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app and is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms with the right to enforce them.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where the developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your country of residence requires otherwise.
